Many people say they buy toys for their children from a local store because it is faster and cheaper. Let me ask you a question, what is more important, the cost of a toy or the safety of your child?
You come home from the store with a toy for your child, see the happy reaction, and feel all is good. A few hours later, or maybe the next day, you find the toy with pieces broken off or worse yet, find that your child has hurt him/herself with the toy. Checking the label, you find out it was made in China or some other foreign country.
Now, should you go out and buy another one to replace it, or let your child go without it? If you buy another one, have you really saved any money? Why would you buy another one of the same kind of toy that your child got hurt on, or that only lasted a short period of time?
Buying an American/USA made toy may seem more expensive at the initial purchase, but you can rest assured that it is safe for your child and in the long term, is actually cheaper as you don't need to buy replacements for it. Also, you are helping to sustain our American economy and providing employment for American workers.
American/USA made toys are durable, safe, and provide your child with many other advantages over foreign made, cheap toys. In future posts, I will discuss these and other toy issues with you.
